Alicia Sproston Garcia Shaver, age 89, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 2, 2011. Beloved daughter of the late Jacinto Garcia and Alicia Sproston. Survived by her children and their spouses: Alex and Cindy Garcia, and Deborah and Mark Burdick. Grandmother of Matthew and Allison Burdick, and Stepgrandmother of Charles and Michael Wagner. Mrs. Shaver was a native of Mexico City, Mexico, and resided in New Orleans, LA, where she worked as a seamstress until being displaced by Hurricane Katrina. She lived the last few years of her life with her daughter and son-in-law in Orlando, FL. Services and visitation for friends and family will be held at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., Metairie, LA on Friday April 8, 2011. Visitation from 9:00 am until 11:00 am.
