Anita "Nunny" Boutwell Jefferson

Anita Boutwell Jefferson, age 68, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at her home in Kenner. She is the daughter of Earshel Smith Boutwell and the late Elson G. Boutwell. Beloved wife of Lloyd John Jefferson, Jr. She will be greatly missed by her husband of 51 years and her children, Cheryl Jefferson Haley, Jill Jefferson Piazza and Lloyd John Jefferson, III and seven grandchildren. Survived by two sisters Linda M. Pippin (Bryan) and Deborah B. Puglis. In addition, Anita is remembered in the hearts of her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Anita was born on December 18, 1945 in Laurel, MS and lived in the New Orleans area for most of her life. Known to her family as “Nunny”, a nickname given to her by her first grandchild. She loved life, enjoyed traveling and loved being with her family and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie on Sunday, February 23, 2014 beginning at 11:00 AM with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home’s Chapel.
