Loving mother of Roy Hyer, Jr., Peggy Hyer Mellor (William), Susan Hyer Zimmerman and Wayne Hyer. Audrey was born and raised in the Irish Channel and was a resident of Metairie for 70 years. She was a very proud volunteer Red Cross nurse’s aid during World War II, worked at National Cash Register while a newlywed, and most importantly, was a loving mother and housewife after the birth of her four children. She hosted many gatherings at her home and had great memories at Pops camp in Little Woods which she owned for nearly 20 years.
