A man whose heart was rooted in the outdoors, Ben found joy in the quiet beauty of nature—whether it was fishing, hunting, or simply spending time outside. He loved sharing those moments with his family, who were the center of his life. A kindred heart that never met a stranger.
Known for his incredible gift of storytelling, Ben could hold a room’s attention with his tales—always told with humor, warmth, and just enough mischief to keep everyone laughing. He had a serious knack for pranks, planning them with the kind of care and dedication others might reserve for important projects, and he loved the joy they brought to those around him.
Beyond his humor, Ben was a man of many passions. He took pride in his extensive coin collection and gun collection, tending to them with patience, knowledge, and deep respect. These hobbies were not just pastimes, but reflections of his love for history, craftsmanship, and tradition.
More than anything, Ben will be remembered for the love he gave his family. He was a devoted brother and uncle, whose greatest legacy lives on in the stories, laughter, and memories he created with them.
He is survived by his sisters Maria L. Dodgen, Belinda G. Page, and brother Natale V. Pecoraro, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Ben G. Pecoraro, Sr., and Anona McTranmer Pecoraro, his sister, Suzanne P. Cloud, his nephew, Jason D. Cloud, Sr., and his brother-in-law, Kenneth Dodgen.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Benilde Catholic Church, 1801 Division Street, Metairie, Louisiana, on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, with visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by the Mass. Inurnment will immediately follow at Metairie Cemetery, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to the American Stroke Association.
