Betty Sue Dougherty Schloegel

Betty Sue Dougherty Schloegel was born on August 12th, 1936 and was called into eternal rest on Thursday, June 2nd, 2011 at the age of 74. She was the beloved wife of James E. Schloegel, Sr. for 55 years. Loving mother of James (Carly), Susan (George), Bill (Donna), and Stephen (Donna). Devoted “Granny” of Candice, Michael, Angela, Stephen, and Jennifer. She is also survived by 2 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and wonderful, loving friends. Betty was born in Picayune, Mississippi and a was a lifelong resident of Kenner, La. She was a dedicated, retired employee of Dillards.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie, La on Monday, June 6th, 2011 from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm followed by a Funeral Mass. Interment will be private. The family is requesting funeral attire to be BLACK AND GOLD to celebrate the Who-Dat spirit of Betty. Because Betty was an avid animal lover, the family requests donations in Betty’s name to St. Francis Animal Sanctuary, P.O. Box 0616, Mandeville, La. 70470.
