Byron (Jamie) James Millet, Jr. passed away at his home on June 7, 2023, at the age of 46 after a courageous 8-year battle with Glioblastoma (brain cancer). Born on February 13, 1977, Byron is survived by his beloved wife Whitney Braud Millet and 2 beautiful children Owen James and Jenna Elise.
Devoted husband, father, son, and son-in-law who loved his family immensely. His greatest joy was spending time with his wife and children, music, and concerts. He will always be remembered with a big smile, boisterous laugh and a joy for life that was truly contagious. He could do it all… no project was too big to tackle from computers to hands on mechanics. He generously shared his talents with family, friends, and strangers alike.
Survived by parents, Byron and Drema (Montz) Millet Sr. of Reserve, Louisiana, sister Lisette (Christopher) Webre, nephew Christopher, niece Lauren of Destrehan, father and mother-in-law Francis and Leslie (Haydel) Braud, Jr. of Kenner, sister-in-law Danielle (Chris) James and nephew Matthew of Portland, Oregon.
Predeceased by grandparents, Roland and Melba (Simon) Millet of Garyville, Quincy and Beverly (Louque) Montz of Reserve. He will be greatly missed by many aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him dearly. Graduate of Brother Martin High School (1995) and Nicholls State University earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Finance (2001). He enjoyed working at Louisiana Machinery, MCC-Joy Theatre Project and finished his distinguished career in a close-knit family environment at Hudson Machinery, to whom his family is grateful for their incredible support during his lengthy illness.
Family and friends are invited to attend services at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and Cemetery in Destrehan, Louisiana on Thursday, June 15, 2023. Visitation begins at 10 am, a Requiem Mass at 12 pm followed by entombment in the Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to St Charles Borromeo Elementary School and St Charles Catholic High School.
