Catherine Ione DeHaven

25 September, 1954 – 10 May, 2022
IN THE CARE OF

Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home

Catherine Ione DeHaven born September 25, 1954, in New Orleans, LA, passed away May 10, 2022. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Bailey DeHaven, and her mother, Catherine Healy DeHaven. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband, George William (Bill) Cooper, Jr., her sisters Patricia D. DeHaven (Chris) and Cheryl L. DeHaven, her stepdaughters Kathryn C. Suire (Tim) and Anne C. Arana (Julio), her grandchildren Caroline, Charlotte, and Harry Suire, and Maryclaire, Vivian, and Lillian Arana. Catherine is also survived by many friends and extended family who love and miss her dearly. Affectionately referred to as Cid by her sisters, Queen by her grandchildren who adored her and whom she adored, and sweetheart by her husband, Catherine loved gardening, cooking spectacular meals, discussing politics, and spending time with the people she loved most. She sewed dresses for her granddaughters, planted trees and flowers to make her grandchildren happy, talked for hours with the people she loved, and made the best oyster dressing there ever was. She served as counselor to many people who turned to her for guidance and advice. For those who were fortunate to love her so much, our lives will never be the same. A private service will be held for close family and friends.
