Charles P. Metzler, Jr.

Charles P. Metzler, Jr., age 88, of Kenner, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. He is preceded in death by his parents, the late Charles P. Metzler, Sr., and Margaret Galt Metzler, as well as his stepmother, Olivette Kanady Metzler. He is also preceded by his loving wife of 66 years, Margaret Pierce Metzler; his sister, Bonnie J. Metzler; and a brother-in-law, Jack Pierce. He is survived by his sons, Charles T. Metzler (Wendy) and John G. Metzler (Suzy), sister-in-law, Barbara Pierce, granddaughter Julia M. Metzler, step-grandson Daniel W. Dennis, Jr. (Erica), and great-grandchildren Gavin, Garrett, and Olivia Dennis.

Charles was born in Philadelphia and then spent his teenage years in Medford, New Jersey. He went on to join the US Navy and retired as a Captain. After retiring in Jacksonville, Florida, he enjoyed taking walks along the beaches. As a youth, throughout adulthood, Charles enjoyed rowing, swimming competitively, scuba diving, gardening, and vacationing. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
