Devon Keith Shelton, of Metairie, LA was called home to Jesus at the young age of 17 on Monday, March 17, 2025, to play in God’s eternal band. He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandmother, Jean Gilchrist Brannon; maternal great-grandfather, John Bruce Brannon; paternal great-grandmother, Carla Shelton; maternal grandmother, Lisa Angelo; paternal grandmother, Marian Rose Ford and paternal aunt, Patricia Ford Bordelon.
Devon is survived by his parents, Sara Jean Brannon and Richard "Rick" Michael Ford; his baby brother, Brannon Luke Michaud; his grandparents, Scott Gilchrist Brannon and Judy Patrolia Brannon in addition to six aunts, four uncles, and twenty-five cousins.
Devon was born on November 29, 2007, to a joyous family. He attended Archbishop Rummel High School, achieving a 3.0 Grade Point Average. As part of his deep commitment to Rummel, he demonstrated his devotion as a four-year band member, playing trumpet, mellophone, French horn and started to teach himself to play tuba, all while he bowled on the varsity bowling team. Devon considered everyone associated with the band and bowling team to be his family. He loved spending time preparing meals with his mom and dad baking holiday cookies and amazing meals, volunteering each year at Bike MS for Multiple Sclerosis and watching Anime with Brent and Brian. In his down time, he loved playing video games with his friends and cousins.
