I wish you were here now because I need you to lean on.  I miss you, my rock, my anchor, my calm in the midst of crazy.

I know my loving brother-in-law is smiling down on my sister and loving her as he always did.  U r missed and always will be I can only pray that this day will  not be too hard on my sister. We will always love u Joey and be here for Vicki forever and all my love.

I told you that every single day of your last week here on Earth.  I'm so proud to tell others about how wonderful you are.  Pride seems like the wrong emotion at a time like this, but its exactly what i feel when I read all of the posts here.  I'm proud to tell everyone of your home going service, the crowd, the tone of your life, the two escorts trying their best to keep up with your procession, you are such a wonderful presence to everyone.  Dad, even in death your greatness continues to make this daughter proud and so blessed to have you...THE BEST DAD EVER!  I have friends who have never known the love of a Father, Mother, or siblings (cousins too in our case) yet you touched their lives as well.  I sure do miss you.  Thanks to whomever kept this page going, it's encouraging for me to wake up and read so many wonderful thoughts.

We have lost HUGE, but Heaven has gained GREATLY. Until that day...rest in His arms.

We are praying for the entire Galatas family at this time.

Dear Vicki,

I know of your great faith and your love for God and here you are encouraging others just as I knew you would, because that is who you are and that is how Joey was.

At least 35 years ago I met you, working at Woolco, and we became fast friends. Then I saw yours and Joey's life change ever so lovely, and I wanted what you had, didn't understand it but wanted it.

Then, you brought me to Church on West Metairie and I received the Holy Ghost. You and Joey taught me how to live for Jesus.

Throughout all these years, even as the miles separated us, all I had to do was pick up the phone and call you and was encouraged by your faith...you used to tell me all the time "trust Jesus", and in your words today while encouraging others I know you are encouraging yourself too.

Joey loved you and I know you have never doubted that, he showed it by the way he loved God. Shelly, Christy, Joey, Jeremy, he loved you kids with all his heart and the grandbabies too.

You are truly a great source of inspiration. Your faith, strength and courage has taught me great lessons in life. I admire your strength and I can see the comforting hands of Jesus upon you.
