Dorothy "Dottye" Echezabal Hennings passed away peacefully at home on January 5th, 2026. Dottye was loved by many and is survived by her beloved husband, Gerald "Jay" Hennings, of 56 years, along with her two children, Michael Hennings (Kristie) and Lisa Slyter (Mark). She was known as Mia to her three grandchildren, Catherine, Emma, and Christian Slyter.
Dottye will be laid to rest alongside her parents at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum, 5454 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA, on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 12:00 PM.
