Elizabeth M. Earley PHD

On March 9th 2013, Elizabeth M. Earley, daughter of the late Francis J. and Elizabeth M. Earley of Bala Cynwyd, PA. Dr. Earley was born and educated in the Phila. PA area. She received her BS in Biology from Chestnut Hill College. After working several years for National Institute of Health in Washington, D.C. and the Canal Zone, she attended Tulane University for a PHD in Microbiology. She loved New Orleans area and came to call it home. She became an ardent Saints fan. She also joined one of the Mardi Gras Krewes. Liz loved her work, and was childlike in her enthusiasm for her research. She had many of her papers published in her field. She did some extensive traveling including Africa, Russia and the Falkland Islands. She enjoyed the company of her Aunt Gert and her cousin Trudie on many of her trips.

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie, LA on June 26th at 11:00 am. Visitation from 10:00 am until Mass time. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks contributions made to the Dr. Liz Earley Prize in Cell and Molecular Biology at Tulane University, P.O.
