Ellen Oakley Davis

Ellen Oakley Davis passed away peacefully at her home after a long illness on Monday, August 5, 2013, at the age of 73. A native of New Orleans, she was the beloved wife of 43 years to Richard C. "RC" Davis. Loving mother of John R.C. Davis (Jennifer). Daughter of the late Dr. John F. Oakley and Mary Kay Downs Oakley. Sister of Mary Kay dela Houssaye and Betty Weddington. She is also survived and fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and dear friends. She was a graduate from All Saints Episcopal School in Vicksburg, Mississippi. She will be remembered for her devotion to family and friends and her love of fishing, gardening and her pets. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a memorial service at the Garden of Memories, 4900 Airline Drive, on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 1:00 pm. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am. Any memorial to Ellen can be made in the form of a donation to the charity of your choice .
