Evelyn Moragas Conino, remembered as “Crick” to her friends, completed her journey here on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at the age of 100. She was married to the late Joseph A. Conino for 66 years. She was the mother of Robert C. Conino and the late Joseph A. Conino, Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louise Theard Moragas and Joseph L. Moragas; her sister Marie Louise Moragas and her grandparents, Dr. Sidney L. Theard and Octave Chopin Theard. She was also preceded in death by her beloved cat, Simon. She is survived by her granddaughter, Jennifer; three great grandchildren, Mickalyn, Trad and Aubrieana; a great-great granddaughter, Leighla in addition to nieces and nephews.
Evelyn was a diving champion in 1940 with NORD and was a skilled tennis player who taught private tennis lessons for two years. She was a former member of the International Toastmaster Club (formerly called Toastmistress Club) in which she was co-founder and held all elected offices in the local chapter and was the Southeast Regional Director for Louisiana and Mississippi. She was also a former member of the Zonta International Club and was the Credentials Chairman for the International Convention held here. She was a realtor for 40 years and an active Notary Public. She was an artist and owned and operated Artistic Framing by Evelyn Conino for 24 years. She earned the designation of Certified Picture Framer and was a member of the Professional Picture Framers Association where she held the office as president of the local chapter three times. She was a former member of River Lands Country Club, Green Acres Country Club and past president of the Jefferson Women’s Tennis Club. She was an active member in St. Edward the Confessor's parish where was coordinator of the Lectors and EMOHC for a total of 34 years. She served on the Liturgy Committee, was a substitute committed Adorer, a former member of the St. Jude Society and a member of the Hilltoppers. She was recipient of the EDIE Award and the St. Louis Medallion.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024, at St. Edward the Confessor Church, 4921 W. Metairie Avenue, Metairie, LA beginning at 9:30 AM with a Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 AM. She will be laid to rest with her husband and other family members in Hope Mausoleum.
