Ewin Javier “E.J.” Zelaya, Jr., age 26, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2014. Beloved son of Ewin Javier Zelaya, Sr. and Laurie Zelaya. Devoted fiancé of Jill Baxter. Doting father of Emma and Jayden. Brother of Amy Geronimo (husband Tomas Geronimo, Sr.) Evelin and Lourdes Zelaya and Andy Sanchez. Grandson of Shirley Hodock, Delton Doucet and George and Marta Escudero. Uncle of Tomas Geronimo, Jr. Also survived and loved by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. E.J. will always be remembered for his love of cars, tattoos and for his smirky smile. E.J. was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by everyone whose lives he touched. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie on Thursday evening, June 19, 2014 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM and on Friday morning, June 20, 2014 beginning at 9:00 AM with a Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 AM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home’s chapel. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Ewin Zelaya’s memorial fund at Capital One Bank.
