Fay Ann Bourgeois Ducote gained her angel wings on Monday, December 1, 2025, while her family held her hand at her bedside. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on October 23, 1951. She was the loving wife of Wallace Ducote, Sr., the adoring mother of three beautiful children, Rose, Laura, and Johnny, and the proud grandmother of seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Fay was born to Charles Bourgeois Jr. and Rose Mitten Bourgeois. She grew up in New Orleans and attended St. Joseph Catholic School. Her beautiful soul and easy-going nature made her a joy to be around. She never met a stranger and loved everyone wholeheartedly. She found solace and inspiration in music and had a special fondness for gazing at the stars. Fay was the foundation of our family and the most beautiful person who loved deeper than we have ever seen.
Fay cherished time with her children and grandchildren, always offering them unconditional love and support. She had a gift for making everyone feel comfortable and valued. Her warm spirit and contagious laughter touched many lives.
Fay is survived by her children, Laura Ducote (Allen) and Wallace "Johnny" Ducote Jr.; her grandchildren: Randall DeCastro Jr. (Gina), Kristina Maher, Alyssa DeCastro (Victor Sr.), Francheska DeCastro (Ray III) Kristian Maher, Kandice Maher (Jourdan) and Ava DeCastro; her great-grandchildren: Bryson, Mia, Brantley, Victor Jr, Randall III, Valorie, Virgil and Rosalia along with her goddaughter, Jessica Merwin (Timothy) and her family. She is also survived by a host of family and friends. Fay will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those she loved.
Fay was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Ducote Sr.; her daughter and son-in-law, Rose Ducote Maher and Michael Maher Jr.; her loving partner of 18 years, Herbert Lasalle Jr.; her sister and brother-in-law, Gale Fontenot and Gary Fontenot; her parents, Charles and Rose Bourgeois Jr. and her grandmother and grandfather, Charles and Cecile Bourgeois Sr.
