Felix Peter Schillesci Jr.

Felix Peter Schillesci Jr. passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Monday evening, August 17, 2015. He was 89 years old. Beloved husband of the late Marvel Catherine McCauley Schillesci for 53 years. Loving father of Phyllis Ann Schillesci Young (Charley), Felix Peter Schillesci III, and David Thomas Schillesci. Grandfather of Jesse Schillesci Young, Lindsey Catherine Young, and Brooke Ramos. Great-grandfather of Eli Landon Young, Blake Taylor Young, Jayla Renee Gladstone, and Bradley Ramos. Also survived by his special friend, Cleo Ramos. Son of the late Rosa and Felix Peter Schillesci Sr. He was a native of New Orleans, and has been a resident of Jefferson Parish for over 60 years. Felix graduated from Samuel J. Peters High School, and proudly served his country in the Merchant Marines and later in the Army. He started out working for the New Orleans Coroner’s Office under Nicholas Chetta, MD and later became a medical photographer for the LSU Medical Center. He was 50 year member of the New Orleans Power Squadron, and also served as their photographer. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass from LEITZ-EAGAN, 4747 Veterans Memorial Boulevard, on Monday, August 24, 2015 at 12:00 noon.
