Mr. Filippo Cali

Filippo Cali, age 82, passed away early Sunday morning, January 16, 2011. Mr. Cali was a native of Aidone, Sicily, Italy and was a resident of Kenner, LA. Beloved husband of the late Patricia Sellers Cali, his wife of 57 years. Father of Connie Cali and Paul Cali (wife, Carolyn) and the late Phil Cali. Nonno of Del Scales, Martin Scales and Zachary Cali. Brother of the late Eva Vitali. Son of the late Gaetano and Melina Campione Cali. Brother-in-law of Marianne Thomas. Uncle of Adriano, Giancarlo and Resi, all of Italy and Victor, Wesley and Holley. Mr. Cali was a retired Naval Architect who pioneered the integration of computer technology into ship building. He graduated from the Italian Naval Academy and attended flight training at the U.S. Naval Base in Pensacola, FL where he met his wife, the late Patricia Sellers Cali. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the memorial gathering at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie, LA on Saturday afternoon, January 22, 2011 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
