Gerard H. Kenney

Gerard H. Kenney was born on September, 19, 1932 in New Orleans, LA and passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2012 at his home in Metairie, LA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ana M. Dyer and his parents, Harold S. and Mary E. Kenney. He is survived by his stepson, James G. Dyer, II (wife, Paige Dyer) and his grandchildren, James G. Dyer, III, Derek P. Dyer and Rachael M. Dyer. Mr. Kenney was the founder and co-owner of KMA Enterprises, Inc., along with partners Barbara Alger Bigg and the late William R. Alger and Herman A. Mortar. He was a member of the Belltones Band for 30 years and played drums for the popular dance orchestra through the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. Mr. Kenney served in the U.S. Air Force for four years. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie, LA on Thursday morning, September 13, 2012 beginning at 9:00 AM with a Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 AM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home’s chapel. Inurnment will be in Garden of Memories at a later date.
