Grace Josephine Mandella Cordell passed from this life into her heavenly Father’s arms on January 23, 2015 at 8:50 PM. A native of New Orleans & a resident of Kenner Grace was born November 18, 1920, and was 94 at the time of her passing. She was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband of 63 years Orville E. “Gene” Cordell, son Donald Cordell, mother Josephine Passanante Mandella, father Louis Mandella, sisters Marie Wilson, Jacqueline Aucoin, and brother Henry Mandella. She is survived by son David Cordell and wife Karen of Port Allen, daughter Dale Cordell & Chrytine Staiger of Covington, daughter Cynthia Melancon and husband Donald of Rome, GA, brother Louis Mandella, sisters Elizabeth Dominice, & Mary Ann Lamana. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren Bonnie, Christopher, Michael, Erin, Tressa, Donald, Kristen, Erin, Amy, Mindy, & Daniel, and by 14 great-grandchildren Abigail, Lillian, Cecilia, Madeline, Vincent, Giovanna, Gianna, Gabriel, Lucas, Jacob, Catherine, Dylan, Ava, & Sophia. Grace’s family would like to extend a special “Thank You” for many years of loving care given to Grace and her husband Gene by Mirna Ochoa. Grace was a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Kenner. Relatives & friends are invited to attend the memorial Mass at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Kenner on Friday, January 30 at 11:30 AM. Visitation from 10:00 AM until Mass at 11:30 AM. Interment will be at St Charles Borromeo Cemetery in Destrehan following Mass. The family requests Masses in lieu of flowers. Online guest book available at www.leitzeaganfuneralhome.com.
