Ida Bruce Gary Bullis

Ida Mae Bruce Gary Bullis, age 98, entered into rest on Thursday, June 4, 2015. Mrs. Bullis was a native of Cut Off, LA and was a long time resident of Kenner, LA. Beloved wife of the late Lee Presley Gary, Sr., by first marriage, the late Jack Falks by second marriage and the late Gene Bullis by third marriage. Mother of Lee Presley Gary, Jr. (Jennifer Sharpe Gary), Mary Gary Jenks (Robert A. Jenks) and James Lind Gary (Katherine Powers Gary). Grandmother of Susan Lynn Gary Powell (David Powell), Lt. Col. Keith Edward Robinson (Paige Hubbard Robinson), Stephen James Robinson (Jennifer Parmley Robinson), Clinton Patrick Gary (Tara Eason Gary) , Jennifer Lind Gary Snook (Bryan Snook), Daniel Christopher Gary (Emily Lanarka Gary), Katherine Lindsay Jenks Lape ( Willard” Trey” Lape, III), Amanda Marie Gary Kero (Thomas Kero), Andrew Holmes Gary and Zachary Bruce Gary and the late Emily Katherine Gary. Daughter of the late Emile Sampson Francois Bruce and Octavie Cecile Guidry Bruce. Sister of Inez Bruce Savoie LaBouef and the late Harris Bruce, Emile Bruce ,Jr., Freddie Bruce, Eddie Jean Bruce, Stanley Joseph Bruce, Aza Bruce Rousse, Ada Bruce Callais, Lillian Bruce Melancon and Rita Bruce Callais. Also survived by 18 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Bullis was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Kenner, served on the Kenner Council on Aging and was a member of Women Aglow. Mrs. Bullis’ family would like to extend a very special thank you to the many caregivers who cared for Mrs. Bullis in her home and at Covenant Home. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie, LA on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 beginning at 11:00 AM with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home’s chapel. Interment will be in St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery in Destrehan, LA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Episcopal Church, 2109 17th Street, Kenner, LA 70062.
