James Meadows passed from this life on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at his home in Metairie, LA. James was an active member of the Greater New Orleans Association for the Deaf, Canal Blvd. Baptist Deaf Church in New Orleans, Tulsa Association for the Deaf and the Oklahoma City Association for the Deaf. He is a lifetime supporter of deaf communities. James attended and graduated from the Louisiana School for the Deaf in 1967. Beloved friend and longtime companion of Shirley Rodriguez and Bobby Annis. A memorial service was held on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Canal Blvd. Baptist Deaf Church at 1:00 PM. Visitation at the church was from 11:00 AM until service time. James’ family would like to thank the staff of Serenity Funeral Home, Covington, LA for their assistance.
