Joel Stewart

Joel "Belle" Pomes Stewart was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. She passed away on Monday, September 9, 2013 at the age of 78. She was the daughter of the late Josephine and Joseph Pomes. She was a resident of Jefferson Parish for the past 15 years. She worked at Robert Normann Jewelers for the past 30 years. She was the sister of Jean Pomes Boudoin and the late Jeanette Pomes Smith, and brother-in-law of Wilson Boudoin. She was also survived by her niece Rhonda Boudoin Sylvera and nephews Ricky Peter Boudoin, Sr., Kevin Sylvera, Sr., Henry Smith, Harold Smith, and Brian Smith. Also survived by her great-nieces, Kristen Sylvera Bourgeois, Sarah Boudoin, Tracy Boudoin and great-nephews, John Bourgeois and Kevin Joseph Sylvera, Jr. Last but not least, she was survived by the "love of her life," her great-great-nephew, Ashton Kade Bourgeois ( 2 ½ years old). Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Gathering at the Vineyard Church in Kenner (4340 Sal Lentini Parkway) on Friday morning, September 20, 2013. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A "Celebration of Life" service will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the Vineyard Church.
