John E. McKenzie, Sr. on Saturday, August 2, 2014 entered into eternal rest after a year long battle with lung cancer. Cherished father of John McKenzie, Jr. (Maureen), James McKenzie (Sue) and Patricia McKenzie. Beloved son of Floyd E. McKenzie, Sr. and the late Allene H. McKenzie. Survived by his sister Linda M. Crowe (Bobby) and former wife and life-long friend Lynn C. McKenzie. Brother of the late Floyd E. McKenzie, Jr. and William K. McKenzie. Survived by 8 grandchildren: Dustin, Cody, John Jacob, Katie, Amber, Kristin, Nick and Noah McKenzie. Also survived by loving nieces and nephews. In lieu of usual remembrances, contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital are preferred. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., Metairie on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at 12:00 pm.
