Johnny Luther McCraney

Johnny Luther McCraney went to be in the presence of Jesus on Tuesday, May 3, 2022. He would have been 76 on July 6, 2022. Johnny was born in Carriere, MS, and has been a resident of Kenner, LA for over 40 years. He was the beloved husband of 49 years to Corine McCraney and the father of his two children, John Chad McCraney (wife, Brittany McCraney) and Amber McCraney. Johnny was the grandfather of John Calob McCraney, Jaden McCraney, Noah Rodriguez, and Rebecca Skye McCraney. He was the brother of the late Archie Ray McCraney and James Carlton McCraney. He is reunited with his mother, Hazel McCraney, and father, Archie Carlton McCraney.

Johnny loved to restore old cars, golf carts, and bobcats. He put his first car together when he was 14 years old. Johnny went into business building patios in 1979 and established M&M Patio, which he did for many years. If you knew Johnny, you knew that he could fix anything. Johnny was a true country boy and loved to cook. He was known for making homemade mayhaw jelly. He will be greatly missed for all the wonderful things he did for his family. We love you, Johnny, and we look forward to that day when we will see you again in heaven.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd. Metairie, LA. Visitation will be held from 9:30AM – 11AM with a service to begin at 11AM. Interment will follow at George Ford Landmark Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Carriere, MS.
