Joseph “Joey” Martin Liuzza entered into eternal rest on December 31, 2020 at the age of 38. He was welcomed into heaven by his grandparents Joseph M. Liuzza and Carol C. Liuzza. He leaves behind those to cherish his memory; his mother Lisa Liuzza Ashley and father Mark Bondlow. He was the nephew of Lori L. Payne (Jamie), Joseph T. O’Neill, Susan O’Neill-Good (the late Earnest), Paul O’Neill (Rochelle), Lisa Bondlow and the late Laura Bondlow; cousins who were more like siblings -- Christopher Ohlmeyer (Desiree), Megan O’Neill and Tony Marchese (Stacey), his nieces and nephews who were lucky enough to call him “Uncle Joey”-- Gavin Ohlmeyer, Olivia Ohlmeyer and Brayden Ducote. He is also survived by his grandmother Elaine Churchhill and his great-aunt Mary Jo Marchese (Joe). Joey also leaves behind numerous family and friends.
Joey served in the US Army from 2002-2009, where he was a Chemical Operation Specialist and involved in Chemical Recon. Joey’s life was forever changed after his return home, he came home a disabled veteran. But even through the hard time he was still a big hearted, kind, loving person. He enjoyed all things sports, especially his Saints and LSU. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, but he truly had a love for his pets. Joey has had many pets through the years and many knew him as an animal lover. His dear cats; Scooby, Nina and BG will surely miss him. Joey will be truly missed by all of those who knew and loved him.
