Julian Ortiz, age 56, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, December 23, 2020. Beloved husband of Alida Paredes-Ortiz. Loving son of Maria Rubí Montoya and the late Jose Valeriano Ortiz. Brother of Julio Cesar Ortiz Montoya (Rosa), Jorge Ivan Ortiz Montoya (Yuliana), Ruben Dario Ortiz Montoya and the late Valeriano Ortiz Montoya and Carlos Alberto Ortiz Montoya. Uncle of David Ortiz Serna, Sebastian Ortiz Serna and Manuela Ortiz Serna. Mr. Ortiz was a native of Manizales, Caldas, Colombia and was a resident of the New Orleans area for the past 35 years. Mr. Ortiz received his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from UNO. He owned Julian Ortiz Accounting Services where he served the community as an Accountant/Enrolled Agent and was also the owner of Dynamic Electronics, Inc. Mr. Ortiz was a member of the Colombian Association of Louisiana, the IRS Enrolled Agents Society and was a parishioner of St. Clement of Rome Church. He was a strong fighter in his battle with cancer, never wanting to give up, taking everything with a smile. Mr. Ortiz was a very honest person, a man of great integrity. He had a beautiful personality and a big heart. He was a very devoted, loving husband and son and was a wonderful brother, uncle and friend. Mr. Ortiz will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives he touched. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial gathering at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie, LA on Monday, January 11, 2021 beginning at 3:30 PM with a Memorial Mass to follow at 5:30 PM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home's chapel.
