Katherine C. Young

Katherine Margaret Cox Young passed away peacefully in her residence on Tuesday morning, February 14, 2017. She was 82 years old. Beloved wife by first marriage to the late John Wilson Roberts Jr. and by second marriage to the late Richard Young. Loving mother of Doyle Roberts (Jennifer), and the late John W. Roberts III (Deryllynn) and Daniel H. Roberts. Grandmother of Jamie Roberts, Brian G. Roberts, Mary Rose Roberts (Aaron), and the late Michael A. Roberts. Great-grandmother of Logan Roberts, Gabriel Roberts, Alexander Roberts, Aizen Elliot, and Hannah Winterfield. Daughter of the late Katherine and Frank Cox. Sister of the late Audrey Broussard, Caroline Westmoreland, Frank Cox Jr., Terrence Cox, and Doyle Cox. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Katherine was a native of Violet and resident of New Orleans for the majority of her life. She was a licensed tour guide and a true ambassador for the city of New Orleans. Katherine was known and loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at LEITZ-EAGAN Metairie, 4747 Veterans Memorial Boulevard, on Sunday afternoon, February 19, 2017 at 3:00.
