Larry Lloyd Oates

Larry Lloyd Oates entered peacefully into heaven on Monday, June 10, 2013 surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was 44. He was born in Raceland, LA to Mary Mercado Oates and Lloyd Neelis Oates. He is also survived by his uncle and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. James Oates, his aunts, Sila Savin, Mary O. Jacob, Annie Laura Chatelain, his best friend/caregiver, Ricky Pates, cousins, other relatives, friends and his pet dog, “Liz”. Larry graduated from Central Lafourche High School in Raceland, was raised in Des Allemands and lived in New Orleans. He was employed by Morning Call in City Park.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie, LA on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at 1:00 pm. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
