She was born on July 17, 1949, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Leonard and Evelyn Standeford. During high school, she met her soulmate and lifelong partner, Jack Hopper, and they married on September 20, 1969.
Laura was a devoted wife and mother who took great pride in creating a warm and loving home for her family. She played a vital role in her husband’s business, handling all secretarial work with care and dedication. She found joy in family gatherings, traveling, and, most of all, welcoming and cherishing her grandchildren. Her laugh was contagious and brought happiness to all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Jack; her sons, Jeff (Alison) and Dean (Dena); and her seven beloved grandchildren: Jack, Alex, Dean, Delani, Daniel, Dane, and Dana, all of whom reside in the Southern United States.

Funeral services will be held at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home in Metairie, Louisiana, on March 7, 2025. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 AM, followed by a service at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place immediately afterward at Garden of Memories in Metairie.
