

Laurette (Lala) Montgomery Toye - Born March 24th, 1931 in New Orleans to the late Edwin Reed Montgomery and the late Emily Allen Montgomery. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Frank Croswell Toye, Sr.
Lala attended the Miss Aiken's School, and Louise S. McGehee School from 5th grade thru high school. She excelled in all sports, especially badmitton, ping pong and tennis, the latter being her life time sport. She attended Holton Arms Jr. College in the Washington, D.C. area, and later graduated from Newcomb College where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. In later years, Lala was a full time real estate agent with Grady Harper, Martha Ann Samuel and Gardner Realtors until retiring last year due to illness.
Lala was also a life-long member of Trinity Episcopal Church volunteering for a number of church related activities.
Lala was an avid lover of all animals great and small. Dogs and cats were her constant companions, and she took great pride in rescuing and adopting many strays throughout the years. Lala will be remembered by all for her unwavering friendship, compassion, and willingness to help those in need.
Lala is survived by her children Frank Croswell Toye, Jr. (Sally), Edwin Montgomery Toye (Michele), and Charlotte Toye Miller (Sam); her sister Sally Montgomery Hayward, and grandchildren Alan Campbell Toye, Emily “Monty” Montgomery Toye, and Laurette “Lily” Davis Miller. Also survived by her precious LuLu.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Trinity Episcopal Church, 1329 Jackson Ave. New Orleans, on Sunday August 4, 2013 at 3:00 pm.
