Lawrence Sonny "Sonny" Landry Jr.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Picone Landry of 59 years. He was the love of her life and her best friend.

Loving father of Marian L. Henderson (Gary), Sunnilyn L. Le Brun (James), Lawrence J. Landry (Marnie) and Blythe Landry (Yvonne).

A proud grandfather of Corin, Lindsy, Paige, Libby, Seth, Zachary and great grandfather of Taylor Michelle.

Son of the late Lawrence Landry, Sr.; step-mother Rosa Landry and Cora Albert and step father John Albert.

Brother of Joyce Giesler (the late Charles), Marian Leveque (the late Joseph), El Roy Landry (Pat) Carolyn Landry (Denise) and the late Ivan “Larry” Forreaux (Mel).

He is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Age 79, a native of New Orleans, LA and resident of Harahan.

“Sonny” served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict after which he worked for Sears, Underwood Typewriters. He was in the auto industry for many years and later established Landry’s Used Cars in 1974.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service at St. Rita Catholic Church, 7100 Jefferson Hwy., Harahan, LA on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at 1:30 pm. Visitation from 11:00 am until funeral time. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
