Lena Mary Giardina

Lena Mae Giardina (born January 3, 1928) entered into eternal rest on January 24, 2013 at 3:00 AM. Lena was preceded in death by her father, Vincent Joseph Giardina; her mother, Rosa Mary Giardina; her beloved sister, Anna Rita Coburn; and brothers, Vincent Joseph Giardina, Jr. and Jerome Anthony Giardina. She is survived by her beloved sisters - Melanie Dorothy Dempsey, Rose Sylvia Breaux, Phyllis Adele Mitts and Diane Marie Brown; by her brother Joseph Ralph Giardina and her Aunt Sylvia Marchese. Lena Mae has many nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends. She was born and lived in New Orleans and later resided in Metairie, LA. She worked for the Bank of New Orleans and then in the accounting department for the Monteleone Hotel from where she retired. Friends and family are invited to attend the funeral services on Monday, January 28, 2013 at St. Christopher the Martyr Catholic Church located on Manson Avenue and Derbigny Street in Metairie, LA. Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM and a Funeral Mass is scheduled for 12:30 PM. Burial will take place following the Mass at Greenwood Cemetery, located at 5242 Canal Blvd., in New Orleans, LA.
