OBITUARY

Lillian Huber Newman

15 October, 1959 – 30 January, 2023
IN THE CARE OF

Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home

Lillian Huber Newman passed away peacefully at her home in Metairie due to natural causes on Monday, January 30, 2023. She was 63. Beloved daughter of the late Earl Emile Huber and Barbara Ann Jones Huber of Metairie, LA. Lili was the loving and dedicated sister of Susan Ann Huber, Mimi Claire Huber (deceased), and Sherry Huber Leone, brother-in-law Louis Joseph Leone III, and she adored her niece Lea Olivia Leone. She was loved by many extended family members, including Jason Leone, Kim Guillot (deceased), and Jennifer Guillot, as well as cousins and friends. Lili attended Riverdale High School and Deckbar Technical School for Accounting. Lili was a free spirit with a wild sense of humor and was affectionately known as “Crazy Lil” due to her feisty, gregarious personality. She held many types of jobs, including accounting, banking, veterinary care, and hospital care, and enjoyed working at the Treasure Chest Casino in her final years. She was most proud of her years spent working with thoroughbred racehorses at the Fairgrounds in New Orleans and Churchill Downs in Kentucky. She was a true lover of all animals in need, with a great love of horses, and had many cats and dogs over the years. She was devoted to her family, and was kind and generous with her time and service with all family and friends; nothing was too much to ask. She will be forever in our hearts.
