Mabel "Sugar Doo" Granier Tunstall

Mabel “Sugar Doo” Granier Tunstall, age 94, went home to the Lord on Saturday, January 1, 2022. Always strong in her faith, she devoted her entire life to her family. She was born on March 8, 1927, the daughter of the late Eddie Joseph Granier and Celina Borne Granier. Mabel is preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Francis Tunstall, Sr. and by her three siblings Remie Joseph Granier, Lucy Mae Muhs and Bernice Madelyn Bouquet. She is survived by her two children Francis Tunstall, Jr. (Debbie) and Virginia Tunstall (Patsy). She was the proud grandmother of Matthew Francis Tunstall. Mabel was a homemaker and re-arranging a room before the kids came home from school was not unusual in the Tunstall home. She loved her Catholic Mass, loved to shop, loved bright flashy colors and bling. She was lovingly called “Sugar Doo” because she extended her gracious warm spirit to everyone. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie, LA on Friday, January 7, 2022 beginning at 9:00 AM with a Funeral Mass to follow at 1:00 PM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home’s chapel.
