TORRES Nera Aidee Torres, age 79, passed away on Friday August 31, 2012. Beloved wife of the late Jose R. Torres, Sr. Loving mother of Jose R. Torres, Jr. (Jody) and Angela M. Torres. Proud grandmother of Cleona, Jose III and Leon. Daughter of the late Jose and Emilia Rodriguez. Also survived by many nieces and nephews here and in Cuba. Nera was a talented seamstress who started her own business, Nera Aidee Custom Interiors, for over 40 years. She enjoyed gardening but her real pleasure was creating delectable dishes for anyone who was hungry. Her strong faith in the Lord was truly inspirational. Nera was born in Camagüey, Cuba and was a resident of Metairie, LA for 60 years. She will be sadly missed by her many friends and family. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd. Metairie on Thursday September 6, 2012 at 1:30 pm.
