She was raised by her aunt; her mother died when she was only four years old and she grew up with her only brother and a cousin. She got married at an early age and started her family. She was a young woman with big dreams and she spoke of her dreams believing those dreams will one day come true.
One of her most intimate desires was to cross the ocean and to come to a distant land. Her dream became a reality when she came to United States in 1965, with five of the seven surviving children. The two younger ones were later born in this country, which became home for all of her children as well as hers. She loved this country so much that later she decided to become a United States citizen.
She was an amazing mother who nourished her children with unconditional love. She was a loving devoted mother, if there should be a person to reflect the definition of unconditional love; our mother is the perfect person in our eyes. Our mother was blessed with love.
We will miss her always, but knowing that she left to be with The Lord gives all of us a sense of peace in our hearts. Mom we love you so much and we know that we will see you again. Farewell!!!
These are her seven surviving children: Enrique Will Alfaro, Federico Tulio Alfaro, Blanca Lilliam A. Mackay, Dalila Ivonne Rivera, Judith Elizabeth Alfaro, Linda Gricell Chirinos and Jacqueline Ruby Burns. She was also survived by 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Her funeral services were conducted at Garden Of Memories Funeral Home in Metairie, Louisiana on Friday, June 24th of 2011.
