Rita P. Hebert, age 91, passed away on Monday, August 15, 2011. Mrs. Hebert was born in New Orleans, LA and was a lifelong resident of Abbeville, LA. Beloved wife of the late Gladu Hebert. Mother of Elizabeth Hebert (husband, Dr. Johnny Prejean, Jr.) Stepmother of the late Warren Gayle Hebert. Grandmother of Timothy Hebert. Daughter of the late Elizabeth LeBoeuf Porter and Elias Porter. Mrs. Hebert was the proprietor of Rita’s Beauty Shop on Guegnon Street in Abbeville, was a parishioner and Eucharistic Minister at St. Mary Magdalen Church in Abbeville and was a member of the Third Order of Mount Carmel since 1976. Mrs. Hebert donated her services as a beautician to the nuns of Sacred Heart at her Salon. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie, LA on Saturday, August 20, 2011 beginning at 10:30 AM with a Memorial Mass to follow in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home’s Chapel at 12:30 PM. Inurnment will be at a later date in St. Mary Magdalen’s Mausoleum in Abbeville.
