Ronnie C. Perry Sr. passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 22, 2024, after a brief illness. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Donna L. Perry and children: Rhonda P. Sproles (Troy), Ronnie C. Perry Jr. (Lisa), Clifton R. Perry, and the late SFC Stephen C. Perry. He treasured his grandchildren: Patrick Macaluso (Jordan), Perry Macaluso (Theresa), Tyler Sproles, René Perry, Sarah Sproles, Halie Norman, Trace Sproles, and Brayden Perry. He adored his 4 great grandchildren: Waylon, Wren, Penelope, and Saige. He is also survived by his sister, Betty Jackson and countless nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, John W. Perry Sr. early in his life and later, his mother Cecil Marie Tracey and his dad, Burt W. Tracey.
At the age of 17, he enlisted in the Air Force and served 5 years during the Vietnam War. He often spoke about his time in Okinawa, Japan. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Metairie Post 175. He retired from Winn Dixie after 43 years of service.
A Celebration of Ronnie's life will be held on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd. in Metairie. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM. Interment will be in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum in New Orleans.
