

Rosella F. Dubroc passed away peacefully at home. She was 85. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sampson and Rose Smith Dubroc; a brother, Sampson Dubroc, Jr. (Peggy), two sisters, Therese Sue Bordelon (Alton) and Dorothy Thevenot (Stuart) and her lifelong friend, Diane "Dee" M. Bonicard. She is survived by 14 nieces and nephews along with numerous grandnieces and nephews. Rosella was a parishioner of St. Edward the Confessor Church and retired from Louisiana Job Service Placement within the Department of Labor after 40 years. She had a passion for crossword puzzles, her cats, and her garden. Her and Dee were huge Mardi Gras lovers with a vast collection of doubloons collected over the years. They also visited many countries throughout Europe as both loved to travel. Lala, as she was known to all her nieces and nephews, enjoyed making each one feel special and purchased them a unique Christmas present every year.
Visitation will be held at St. Edward the Confessor Church, 4921 W. Metairie Ave. in Metairie, LA on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm followed by a rosary. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Blake Dubroc of the Lafayette Diocese on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1315 Eggbend Rd. in Fifth Ward, LA. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am. The interment will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery no. 2.
