Valerie Kolonics Toth

Valeria “Valerie” Toth passed away at the age of 69 years old on Monday, March 11th, 2024, at her home in Metairie, La. Valerie was born in Felsoszolnok, Hungary on May 14th, 1954, to Imre “James” Kolonics and Ilona Kolonics. After relocating to California from Hungary, Valerie attended San Carlos School in her early years and graduated from Monterey High School in 1973. Upon graduating high school, she married Endre Toth, also of Hungary, at a ceremony in Monterey, California in 1978. The newlyweds then moved to Louisiana where they each began working in the service industry. Valerie eventually left the service industry in 2003, when she joined Taylor Energy Company to work until her retirement in 2023. When she wasn’t preparing some of her gourmet meals that she became known for, Valerie enjoyed gardening, traveling, and fashion.

Valerie is survived by her loving family: her mother Ilona; her son Christopher (Christine); Grandpup (Bella); her brother Andrew (Susan); and her sister Gabriella (Edward).

Valerie was preceded in death by her father (Imre “Jimmy”) and her husband (Endre).

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Funeral services will be held at St Louis King of France in Metairie on Saturday, March 23rd, with visitation at 10:00 AM and Mass at 12:00 PM.
