ALBERTO E. VADILLO M.D.
9/8/1957 – 8/26/25
With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Dr. Alberto E. Vadillo, who left us peacefully on August 26, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on September 8, 1957, in Cárdenas, Matanzas, Cuba, Alberto was not only an extraordinary physician, but also a devoted husband, brother, and friend to many.
Alberto’s life was defined by service—to his patients, his profession, and his family. After graduating from the University of Zaragoza School of Medicine in Spain, he completed his internship and internal medicine residency at Mercy Catholic Medical Center in Darby, Pennsylvania. He later pursued a fellowship in cardiology at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, Florida.
For more than 37 years, Alberto gave his heart and soul to Mount Sinai, serving as a senior attending physician in the cardiac catheterization laboratory. He practiced both clinical and interventional cardiology with remarkable skill and compassion, while also chairing credentialing and medical services review committees. His leadership, wisdom, and humanity earned him the admiration of colleagues, patients, and friends alike.
Beyond medicine, Alberto was a man of passion and joy. He loved cycling, sailing, and sharing life’s adventures with those he loved. To his family, he was a role model and protector. To his friends, he was a source of comfort, wisdom, and laughter.
Alberto is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Ana Sora Vadillo, and by his siblings: Manny Vadillo, Maria Rabre, and Ana Gonzalez. He leaves behind a legacy of devotion, excellence, and love that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
We will remember him not only for the countless lives he touched and saved as a physician, but also for the way he guided, protected, and uplifted his family. He was a devoted husband, a cherished brother, and a true friend—and he will be missed beyond words.
