

Angel was born and raised in Havana, Cuba, where he started his career in accounting. He was married to Gladys for 63 years long and happy years. Angel immigrated to the United States in November of 1960, settling in New York where he had an accounting office, serving the community. In 1980, he opened his first McDonald’s restaurant in Miami, the beginning of a long-loved career with McDonald’s. Angel was passionate about giving back to the community and was one of the founding McDonald’s operators of the first Ronald McDonald House in Miami. He was also a long-time member of the Kiwanis Club in New York as well as Miami. He was known to be the life of any party with an infectious smile that lit up any room. He helped many people throughout his life, and lived a life of purpose that made a difference to all who surrounded him. On June 24th, Angel passed away, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. Angel is survived by his wife, Gladys, his brother Robert, (sister-in-law Gladys) children, Roy, Alex (daughter-in-law Isa) and Vivian, Grand-children, Bryan, Nicholas, and Andrew and Great grandson, Christian.
