

On Thursday, May 31, 2018, Eugenio (“Toti”) de Ribeaux Sandoval passed away quietly in his Miami home at the age of 89. He will be lovingly remembered by his cherished wife of 56 years, Clara de Ribeaux Ramos, and his children, Reyner Rodriguez (Enid), Clara Rodriguez (Alicia), Eugene de Ribeaux (Mary Beth), and Fernando de Ribeaux (Lesley), and grandchildren, Rey, Daniel, Martin, Mario, and Marcos. He will also be dearly remembered by his sister Gertrudis, brother Alberto, and brother-in-law Ranulfo Borges, and all his cousins, nieces and nephews, and their children. He is predeceased by his sisters Josefa Borges and Elvira Trujillo and brother-in-law Jose Trujillo.
Eugenio was born in Matanzas, Cuba, to Alberto de Ribeaux Figuera and Josefa Sandoval y de Vera on December 5, 1928. He is remembered as someone with a keen intellect who enjoyed reading math texts and calculating in his head. He studied chemistry in Cuba and worked as a chemist for American Cyanamid in Stamford, Connecticut, and Manati, Puerto Rico. Upon retirement in 1991, he moved to Miami.
Visitation will be held at Caballero Rivero Westchester, 8200 Bird Rd., Miami, FL from 6 to 9 p.m. on Monday, June 4, and at St. Dominic Church, 5909 NW 7th St., Miami, FL from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 5, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery, 11411 NW 25th St, Doral, FL.
