During her lifetime Gloria embraced monumental change. As a young woman she left the comfort of her homeland in Jamaica for the rigors of New York City to forge a new life. She lived in New York City for over 15 years, working in the medical field.
In 1968 Gloria sensed another massive transformation calling her. This time she moved from New York City to San Francisco, the first of her extended family to settle roots on the West Coast – a single woman with two young adults and a child under her care.
Yet another large adjustment arrived in 1989 as she approached retirement. Once again it required crossing the country - this time from San Francisco to Orlando, FL. While in Orlando she did retire but had the desire and energy to return to work, finishing her career as a medical transcriptionist.
In 2015 Gloria moved to her last city – Miami. The last 10 years physically slowed her body but her will and courage never left.
May she rest in peace and fly with the wings of love.
