

Henry Grady Lyle, 88, of Miami, Florida, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2015 surrounded by his family. Affectionately known as “Bear Bear”, he was a man of great faith and a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. A long-time resident of Miami, Henry was born in Macon, Georgia on February 22, 1927. Henry was a veteran of the US Navy serving in WWII. He was a proud graduate of Boys High in Atlanta and the University of Georgia. He had a long and successful career with Southern Underwriters until his retirement in 1986. He enjoyed fishing, sailing and spending time at his second home on Cattail Creek in Burnsville, NC. He was a charter member of Christ the King Lutheran Church, which was his church home for more than 50 years. He was preceded in death by his son, George H. Lyle. Surviving family members include his beloved wife of 65 years, Beverly B. Lyle; Daughter Katherine L. Saunders; Grandchildren, Shane Lyle (wife, Rachel and twins Madison and Taylor), Kristyn Saunders Wilczek (husband, Jason) and Katie Saunders; Granddaughter-in-law Tracy Lyle Hollman (great-grandson Austin). He will be forever loved and missed. A private burial was held on October 2. A memorial gathering and celebration of life for family and friends will take place at Christ the King Lutheran Church (11295 SW 57th Ave, Pinecrest, FL 33156) on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 2pm.
