To my loving friend Jaime Velosa,
No words can describe what we have lost.What once was a generous,caring,loving person,today lives in our memories and our blessings.
Jaime was a person who understood the pain, and the help that was needed to support others.
He will away be remembered in the loving eyes of the kids he helped,the families he supported and the happiness he spread.  
"Wherever a beautiful soul has been ,there is a trail of beautiful memories" and those memories will be cherished by us at Corazon a Corazon.
As a close friend the memories we shared will always live in my heart and in my thoughts. And I know the love that Jaime spread in this world,will go along with him wherever his soul  lives now.   And  the sweet memories he left will always make us smile and think of him.

My condolences to you Monica and your family 

When I think of Jaime I think of him as the “cool” dad.  He always welcomed us into his home with his warm smile and loving demeanor. He made all of Monica’s friends feel like we were part of the family. He even knew all of our boy drama.  He allowed a bunch of girls to get ready in his house (almost every weekend)as we filled the air with a ton of hairspray while we blasted the music. The best was when none of us had a car and planned on taking a taxi or subway into the city. He would come into the room and give his car keys to whoever had a license without any hesitation. Always telling us to have fun!  Besides that, I was fortunate enough to witness the amazing husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and brother-in-law he was. He will be missed terribly, but leaves everyone that knew him with wonderful memories of the man he was. Rest in eternal peace sweet Jaime.

I have heartwarming memories of Tio Jaime and our entire family, especially during the holiday season when we would all gather to celebrate on Christmas Eve. I know this is a hard time for all who loved him, but especially for Tia, Judy, Cindy, David and Monica. You are all in my prayers.  -Angelica Portilla

I am part of CORAZON A CORAZON FUNDACION INFANTIL he was a very well known and cherished  member. He will be greatly missed for all the especial things he did for the foundation as well as all the children he cared for when they were brought to New York for surgeries and other problems they were faced with. May he rest in peace.

I met Jaime more than 20 years ago in Corona, Queens when I first stating dating my wife, a “cousin” of Jaime’s daughter, Monica.  While the entire family was immediately warm and welcoming, Jaime made a lasting impression on me.  During visits, we would speak at length on many subjects, and even if we disagreed, he never made me feel bad about it. I loved his stories about his early travels and his career in the luxury service industry.    I had a very high level of respect for him and always made it a point to visit him when he moved to Florida.  Jaime was a special person.  He beamed with pride about his wife, his children, and his grandkids.   I will always remember him, and always be thankful for having made his acquaintance.  We weren’t related, but I think of him as I do an uncle - just like family.  And we lived states apart, but I’ve always felt close to him.   My thoughts and prayers are with you, his immediate family.  He will live on in my memories and I will always smile hearing his name. 

Some of my fondest memories as a kid were my trips to Queens, NY to visit the family.  Tio Jaime and Tia Barby were a big part of that!  Thank you for all the memories.  Much love to Tio, Tia, Monica, Cindy, Judy, David and the rest of the family.

I would never forget that I used to go to Main Baptist and ALWAYS was cheerfully greeted by this polite and educated gentleman!
Little that I know , that the special gentleman was the father of my neighbor and dear friend Monica...I remember being so happy when I saw him at Mónica’s house and shared those beautiful moments with him.
Very special human being and a very kind soul.
Memories are what keep people alive in our minds and forever in our hearts .

What an exceptional grandfather and man!  I will always remember his bright smile when picking up his Olivia and his sweet smile and comments each and every time we would see each other anywhere - but especially at Publix. En el camino de nuestras vidas, siempre nos vamos a encontrar hombres y mujeres maravillosos, que nos irán a dejar una huella imborrable. Y Jaimito fue uno de estos hombres maravillosos. Siempre con una sonrisa sincera, inolvidable; siempre con su corazón generoso e incondicional dispuesto a ayudar en todo momento al que se acercara a el; siempre consagrado a su familia; siempre el buen amigo de todos. Intachable esposo, padre, abuelo, hijo, hermano, tío; inmejorable amigo. Jaimito, tu vida llena de virtudes, fue un gran ejemplo para todos cuantos te conocimos. Te extrañaremos, pero jamas te olvidaremos, porque siempre permanecerás vivo en nuestros corazones. A toda mi amada familia Velosa Portilla Corpas, de corazón los acompañamos en este triste momento. We remember Jaime with much affection. Our memories of him will always be of his kindness and generosity. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and for that we are grateful.
