

Jorge was born on October 19,1935 in Havana, Cuba to Jose de la Torre-Verdejo Lopez and Maria Josepha de Ajuria Hernandez.
Jorge met his future wife Maria Josefina Fernandez Alvarez “Coqui”, on a cruise from Spain to Cuba on the Santa Maria in Vigo 1957. They married at Saint Peter and Paul Catholic Church on July 1,1961 in Miami.
Jorge was stationed with the US Army in the Korean Demilitarized Zone during the October 1962 Cuban missile crisis. In 1972 he founded the American Brokerage Company, which he ran as President and CEO until 2014.
Jorge had a deep passion for boating, his children, and his granddaughter Ari. He was known for his social affinities, gentleman qualities, deep wisdom, unique sense of humor, and mischief.
Jorge was preceded in death by his mother, Josefina, father, Pepe, and brother, Sergio. He is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Coqui, children, Jorge and Kristina, granddaughter, Ariana Blue, and family, Lisa, Annie, Henry, Alex, Mark and Brian.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, November 17 from 4:00 pm till 8:00 pm at Caballero Rivero Westchester, 8200 Bird Road, Miami.
A funeral service will follow on Monday, November 18 at 2:00 pm, Caballero Rivero Woodlawn South & Woodlawn Park Cemetery, 11655 SW 117th Avenue, Miami.
