November 18, 1935 - June 22, 2025, Joyce I. Chen, 89, of Pembroke Pines, FL passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2025, peacefully in her home. She lived a long and meaningful life and left a memorable and enduring impression on all those who knew and loved her.
Joyce was born in Catadupa, St. James, Jamaica, to the late Sedonia and Violet Hylton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Dazel Chen.
On the 24th of April 1959, she entered into the bond of holy matrimony. They were blessed with four children. Joyce became a stay-at-home mom, dedicating her life to raising her children in a loving home and supporting her husband as he established his own business.
In 1981, she and her family immigrated to the United States. Joyce gave her life to Christ on August 12, 1984. She truly loved the Lord and gave much of her time serving her church and community in surmountable ways. Joyce devoted her life to God, her husband, children and grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, exercising, visiting museums, parks, zoos, plays; attending church and traveling. She was happiest spending precious moments with her family surrounding her.
Joyce is survived by her three sons and one daughter; four grandchildren, four siblings, as well as several nieces, nephews and in-laws.
