Juan Tomas Castillo

Juan Tomas Castillo (85) of Miami, FL passed away on September 11, 2023. Juan was born in Havana, Cuba on March 30, 1938 to Jose Tomas Castillo and Angela Marrero Castillo. Juan moved to Chicago, IL in 1968 where he met his wife of 54 years, Alejandra (Alex) Castillo.

Juan and Alex had two daughters, Gema and Roseanna. Juan worked as a set-up operator for over 35 years, at the same company where he first met Alex. Juan enjoyed spending his free time and retirement years with his family and friends. Juan was a loving and selfless husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, and friend. Juan is survived by his wife Alex, daughters Gema Torres (married to Hiram Torres) and Roseanna Castillo (married to Mark Schneider), grandchildren Jovanni, Justin, Avery and Eva, and sisters Mirtha and Maya.

Juan was a regular lottery player, and would love to tell his family how he’d spend his lotto winnings on them. His family feels like they won the lottery every day they had with him – they could not have been luckier. He will be greatly missed and his family will carry him always in their hearts.

Visitation services will be held at Caballero Rivero Westchester, located at 8200 Bird Rd., Miami, FL 33155 on September 18, 2023 from 5-8 p.m. Burial services will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery, located at 11411 NW 25th St., Doral, FL 33172, on September 19, 2023 at 11 a.m., with procession beginning from Caballero Rivero Westchester at 10:30 a.m.
